They must submit a short video to the AMI Board of Directors answering 1 out of the 3 questions below:
- HOW AI AFFECTS THE MARINE INDUSTRY?
- AS AN INDUSTRY WE HAVE A GROWING NEED FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO COME AND WORK AS MARINE TECHNICIANS AND FILL OTHER KEY MARINA POSITIONS, HOW CAN WE ATTRACT MORE YOUNG PEOPLE TO WANT TO WORK IN THE MARINE BUSINESS?
- IN RECENT YEARS ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS HAVE SHIFTED AND AS A RESULT THE WATERS AROUND LONG ISLAND HAVE SEEN A DRAMATIC INCREASE IN SEA LIFE. WE HAVE SEEN AN INCREASE IN NOT JUST THE NUMBER OF SPECIES PRESENT BUT ALSO AN INCREASE IN THE POPULATONS OF FISH, SEA TURTLES, AND MARINE MAMMALS. WHAT LIMITIATIONS AND/OR INNOVATIONS CAN BE USED TO PROTECT EXOTIC AND ENDANGERED SPECIES WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY PROTECTING THE PUBLIC’S RIGHT TO ENJOY COASTAL BOATING?
Your response should be about one and a half minutes. Video submissions will be judged on use of the English language and how well-thought out the response is. Other considerations may include: good academic standing, positive attitude and work ethic, and demonstration of financial need.
